Medication Tracker?

I broke my ankle, had surgery, and am now on 13 different medications that need to be taken at different intervals and different times. I can't keep up with it.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a medication tracker?

I've looked at a few templates, but the ones I've found seem to be for normal, routine meds that a person is on long-term. Not this chaotic mass of pill bottles I have.

Best wishes with your recovery!

I found one that is for after surgery. It has spaces for different types of meds, how often you should take then & when you actually took them. You may also want to note which need to be taken with food. I don't see that on there unfortunately.

You may also want to talk to the nurse or after surgery care team. They may have suggestions or be able to help.

Oh hell, hugs. This is what works for me and maybe it would for you too. The lid on a TimerCap pill bottle isn't going to remind you to take pills, but each bottle lid does tell you in hours and minutes how long it's been since it was opened. Rahaeli (Denise) rec'd them on Bluesky and it's the only way I've found to stay on schedule for an every third day pill.

They're in my kitchen on the counter, sitting in boxes drawn on a piece of paper, each box marked with the frequency and time of day for that group. I check the lids every time I go in there to make a cup of tea or fix something to eat.

Search on Amazon for TimerCap, with no space, $25 for a four pack.

Many hugs for a pain free recovery!

I am so sorry. That sounds miserable. I hope you heal quickly.

Would just a regular Gantt chart with all your different medicines down the left side work?

Instead of working off a list each time you need to take your pills, you might consider just writing down on a chart what needs to be taken when, and then use that to pre-emptively fill a week's/month's worth of pill boxes like so: https://www.amazon.com/Pill-Organizer-Monthly-Dispenser-Medication/dp/B086VBSB99 or similar. Then all you need to remember is "load pill boxes" once a week/month, and "take pills" once/twice a day. You're not having to open each bottle and try to remember what you did. All you need to do is remember to fill the pill boxes, then remember to take the pills in the correct compartment. Bonus for that is you can see that the compartments are empty and that yes you did take your morning pills, even if you don't remember doing it.

I use a similar pill box but mine is for one week only with 4 different compartments for each day. I know some people use more than one box if they take more meds each week than fits in one box. I agree it is great to only fill this once a week or month and easily see whether you've taken a med that morning yet or not.

ETA: Hit send too soon. For meds that I take as needed, I put a note in my weekly hourly vertical planner. I note in the note space on the bottom of that particular day at which exact time I took the extra med and which dosage. This helps me keep track of when I am able to take the next dose and is also very helpful and easy to take to my next doctor's appointment. I can easily review before an appointment how many times and days and how much of the extra meds I took. I sometimes also put very short notes next to it, e. g. for sleep meds on what the extra med's effects were.

I would think there is an app out there. There seems to be apps out there for just about everything. Good luck finding one *hugs*
