My previous journal and my current one

I did read the rules, but please let me know if I've managed to break them I like seeing other people's creativity, so I thought I'd share some pics of my previous journal (on the left in the first pic) and my current one. I use composition books plus a lot of bits of other stuff taped and glued into them. And lots of stickers.

Those are the coolest journals. I love the mixture of text, drawings, and pasted in pictures. Very visually interesting.

Thanks! I used to cut out words and images and keep them in ziploc bags, but eventually I started adding them to my journals.

Were you keeping them to use in art work or as for inspiration for writing or something like that?

I used to do the same thing with magazine ads and fashion spreads when I was in high school. I was fascinated with those images.

Mostly inspiration for writing. Kind of like cut ups and found poetry - grab a handful and see what popped into my head.

When I was a teenager, I lived in London for a while and collected a bunch of words. On the way home, they stopped me in customs and a friend I was with said that when the customs guy asked what it was I looked triumphant and said, "That's my bag of words."

I very much approve of your use of stickers! There's something really appealing about using composition books for journals - I used to do that in high school and even though it's been a while I still get kind of excited when I flip through a blank composition book. (Think of all the stickers I could cover it with!!)

I love composition books. They're just the right size and they have those nice hard covers.

Stickers always make things better.

And I love how many colors and kinds of covers the composition books are now. When I was a teen it was just the black and white covers; now there's all sorts of cool covers. I have to close my eyes and walk past in the store because I need another notebook like I need a hole in the head. LOL

Those are really neat! I love stickers myself, to the point I had to buy an accordian folder for them, but I never imagined doing anything like you did. Consider me inspired!

Thanks! I have a box full of stickers, and I still keep buying more. The ones I can't bear to part with (by putting them on something where they'll be damaged or on something that i may eventually lose) invariably end up on or in my journals.

Very fun journals! I keep thinking about pasting things into mine, but then I think I don't want the ... hmm. Stuffed? Feeling of the pages not being precisely flat. How does that work out for you?

I kind of like it - it makes them awkward to carry around, but I like that there are all of these hidden places inside them, with pages that flip up or out and reveal other things.
