Previously I posted about testing pen for plant labels. Today I posted an update. For comparison, here are two of the pictures taken one month apart. The old Sharpie marker is notably faded. The Sharpie oil paint pen is the clear winner, so that's what I recommend for outdoor labels. It's what I used on today's labels for seed pots.

In this closeup view, you can see the writing on the labels better.  Again, the Sharpie permanent marker is the flimsiest, the Sharpie oil paint pen is the most opaque, and the Craft Smart paint pen is in between.
