Date: 2022-08-22 01:28 pm (UTC)Journal: My LJ/DW goes back to 2000 or 2001. There are gaps and there are times I experimented in other places, but it’s probably the most consistent record of my life. From 2016 on, I was also keeping a lot in pen and paper.
Planner: I might have the odd thing from earlier, but for the most part, the planners I still have are from 2016 and on, when I really got into the whole Bujo/Traveller’s Notebook thing. As mentioned in a previous post, most things prior to that were lost or discarded during a series of life upheavals (and finally a move abroad).
For me the lines between my planner and journal are blurred. My planner notebook has “journal” notes in it at times, and I can remember a time when my LJ entries had my to-do list on them, too!

Date: 2022-08-22 03:53 pm (UTC)I'm similar to you in that I don't usually differentiate a whole lot between journal and planner, though I just got a new one (again, lol) that's probably more planner than journal.

Date: 2022-08-23 01:33 pm (UTC)I think my wedding planner is in the box with my wedding dress, and that dates back to 1993.
The digital journal wins for continuous use, for sure. As I imported all of my LJ over to Dreamwidth, I still have all of that.
I don't remember keeping specific planners or journals as a kid. I was pretty terrible about keeping up with assignments and things in school, and I wish I would have discovered 'planning' earlier in life. I don't think I really did the diary thing either. I remember that I kept a dream journal for a while, where I wrote down my dreams every time I woke up and could remember them.
