Day 8 Question:
Do you have any journal/planning role models? This might be celebrity diarists, famous journalers of yore, or people who are documenting their fabulous layouts on Instagram.
If you post elsewhere, drop us a link in the comments.

Date: 2022-08-30 04:08 pm (UTC)In a more modern sense, I really love the Yarn Harlot's blog.
My own journaling is never quite up to parr but I also remind myself that these journals and letters are often edited before they're published to the public (to which extent I may not know) and that once paper was expensive and the act of writing more time consuming so maybe you waited until you had something Profound rather than just dashing stream of consciousness whatever and hitting "post."

Date: 2022-08-30 09:56 pm (UTC)Victorian is my area, so I'm constantly reading letters and diaries from that century and finding my own journal which seems to be constant whining about my chronic illness rather wanting in comparison. LOL
I've read The Yarn Harlot before, I think via network here on DW, and I do like her writing style.

Date: 2022-09-03 09:52 am (UTC)I hear you on the perfectionism thing; it's such an enemy, and it's so important to see experimentation or risk-taking with the possibility of failure is okay.

Date: 2022-09-03 12:28 pm (UTC)So I took the time to work out what I liked about their styles, compared that with what I needed to organise me and figure it out slowly.
I will still watch Cindy's videos though - so much love!

Date: 2022-09-04 02:33 pm (UTC)I have discovered a YouTuber who makes amazing Lord of the Rings/Hobbit/Middle Earth themed bullet journal spreads: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCod_soVUnuMEVZZzpU54hfw
She does water color paintings of Middle Earth scenes.
When I first started bullet journaling, I watched a lot of YouTube to get an understanding of how the system works, but over the years, I've adapted things for my own use. There are several artistic ones I watch because I enjoy their aesthetics but not because I'm going to use their ideas.
