Day 6 Question:
What do you do about mistakes? What hacks or tricks do you do to fix them? Do they throw you completely off?

Date: 2022-08-25 01:34 am (UTC)My job is filthy, and I do a lot of list-making/planning while on break. I can scrub for ages and still be dirty. After nearly a year of 'destroying' notebooks/pages due to a single dirt-smudge, I recognized that this was not going to stop any time soon, and everything will get dirty/smudgey/imperfect and it's fine. My notes are not archival masterpieces - they are a list of things to accomplish during the week or some notes about an adventure video game characters should have or some tools I need to pick up when I can. The oil and dirt and grease and the rest are a part of me and a part of my words and it's good.

Date: 2022-08-25 09:13 am (UTC)If it's only a letter or two, i'll just write over it. On my daily pages or if i journal by hand, i'll usually just cross things off with a single line, but on my monthly pages, i tend to use correction tape. Lately, on my test pages, i've also been using erasable pen, Pilot Frixion, but since i don't think it would behave well long term, i don't use that pen on things i intend to archive.
I used to get all out of sorts when i made a mistake, but i'm not phased anymore. I'll cross it off and keep writing.

Date: 2022-08-28 04:41 pm (UTC)For my bullet journal, it depends in the extent of the mistake. Small ones - correction tape. Bigger ones - I cut a piece from the back of previous journals the size of the mistake and glue it over the problem areas. Huge ones - I usually glue the two pages together and just skip right over them. I guess the alternative would be to cut the problem page out, but I worry about messing with the binding on the page it matches. Another option I've used it to switch whatever I was doing to white on black and just color over the mistake with a opaque black marker.
